Creative Coaching
For Actors, Directors, Writers & Content Creators
What will a one-on-one Creative
Coaching session involve?
The initial session will include:
A discussion about your expectations, where you feel you are at in your career, your goals and anything that is concerning you.

Actor Coaching:

I want to help guide and support you to discover your acting process. You might be a seasoned actor who needs some one-on-one time to synthesis your thoughts or
How do you find a starting point into a scene, a character, a script, a self-tape? How do you “Drop in”? What is you first initial response and how can we cultivate that?
Are you a physical actor? Are you an actor or artist that works purely from imagination?
Some specific activities that I might use in a session include:
-
Improvisation exercises to help actors develop their instincts and become more comfortable with saying YES and taking risks. Acting is about receptivity and listening and Improv drops you into this instantly because there is no time to over think but rather to listen to what has come before and rely on impulse.
-
Character development exercises to help actors access their full range and versatility. I.e. What characters lit a fire in your belly and how can you use all of “you” to make that character to feel seamlessly authentic
-
Script Analysis to help actors understand the subtext and motivations, objectives and wants of the character. And assisting you to make strong choices.
-
Vocal and physical exercises to unlock tension or blocks
This is scratching the surface but a solid start to get you to understand what you might experience in a session. Ultimately I will be focused on helping actors develop their skills in order to bring authenticity and alignment to their performances in a supportive and inspiring environment.
I understand the above is centred around what a session would look like working with actors. But those activities apply to creatives like writers, directors and content creators too. It all begins with the first sit down and having clarity around expectations and goals.

Writer Coaching:

For a writers, you might be struggling with dialogue, or character development and creation, perhaps you can't get into a writing room or want to practice pitching your latest screenplay. I can provide you with tools and skills that can assist you. As well as a space to feel safe to explore, whether it's jumping on your feet and moving the play, pilot, monologue or screenplay. Perhaps its a sounding board. The possibilities are endless and would be directed by YOU.
Director Coaching:

Directors, you might be struggling with design or how to create a look book or how to pitch or describe your vision for a project. Do you need a space to practice? Or guidance on what to include in a look book and what platforms or ways to source material for it. Or are you finding it difficult to find the language in order to talk to actors, to understand their process and how to "direct" them in a scene? This is where support and collaboration are essential to develop and strengthen your skills in order to feel confident that you can achieve your goals. I am here to help you discover your unique way and process to do just that.
